The purple Metal Meta Ridley represents the Aparoid Fortuna, the winged member of the Aparoids, a species of purple mechanical insectoids. The High Gravity hazard and the "increased jump power" battle condition reference the Aparoid Fortuna's ability to fly. Other trivia: This spirit's Irreversible Controls ability references the Aparaoids' ability to assimilate its victims, which allows them to control them telepathically. In World of Light, the Aparoid spirit is located in the space area, referencing the Aparoids' ability to survive in the vacuum of space.
Aparoids are a race of extremely powerful cyborg insects that function as a hivemind, with just one Aparoid being able to take out an entire Cornerian fleet. Aparoids have the ability to infect both organisms and machines, assimilating them into the Aparoid network. Now, they launch a full-scale invasion on the Lylat System, forcing long-time rivals Team Star Fox and Team Star Wolf to work together and annihilate the threat.
