The stage and music track represent the main setting of Balloon Fight, which features the Balloon Fighter as the main playable character. The Villager's favored Balloon Trip features the Villager wearing the Balloon Fighter's helmet with the balloons attached to them, which serves as their up special. The Villager's favored Balloon Trip and "increased jump power" battle condition reference the main gameplay of Balloon Fight where the player flies and hovers around the stage with the balloons attached to their helmets. Other trivia: This spirit's Shield type references the Balloon Fighter's goal in Balloon Fight to protect his balloons from enemy Balloon Fighters. The player character of Balloon Fight. The object of the game is to pop all the enemies’ balloons, without getting your own balloons popped. There’s also Balloon Trip mode, where the Fighter has to avoid sparks, collect balloons, and get to the end of the level. In Smash, Villager’s up special move is named for this mode. They’ll don the Balloon Fighter’s hat and balloons, using them to float back to the stage.
