Castle / Boss Fortress - Super Mario World / SMB 3
Yusuke Takahama · 01:57
The black Mario represents Boo Mario, whose design includes his signature cap and facial features. The stage represents the interior of the haunted mansion areas featured in the Ghostly Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy and the Boo Moon Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 2, where the Boo Mushroom, which turns Mario into Boo Mario, can be obtained. The music track contains the fortress theme song from Super Mario Bros. 3, referencing how Boos first appeared in World 2's Fortress level in Super Mario Bros. 3. The Invisibility rule references Boo Mario's ability to turn invisible, allowing him to pass through certain obstacles. The Low Gravity and High Gravity reference Boo Mario's ability to quickly ascend in the air and slowly descend.
Don’t worry, he’s not actually a ghost! It seems Mario’s gotten his hands on a Boo Mushroom, and transformed into Boo Mario! This ability allows Mario to float, understand Booish, and phase through grates with a shake of the Wii Remote. Just steer clear of any lights, or you’ll turn back into your normal self.
