Carmilla
#1072
Dwelling of Doom
Kenichi Matsubara · 00:55
The navy Giant Meta Knight puppet fighter's dark mask represents Carmilla's appearance in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, her debut game, where she is depicted as a large, floating ballroom mask with a dark color scheme. The music track is based on the mansion theme song from Simon's Quest, which plays in Laruba Mansion where Carmilla's boss battle takes place. The Invisibility rule references how Carmilla's true form is depicted as semi-transparent during her boss battle in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Other trivia: This spirit's Fire/Explosion Resist ↑ ability is designed to counter the effects of Simon and Richter's down special, Holy Water, referencing how Carmilla often spends her boss battles in the Castlevania series floating in the air, making the Holy Water sub-weapon useless against her.
Once a vision of noble beauty, Carmilla has since become a vampire and servant to Dracula. Her form as a mask comes from how she’d hide her vampirism and find unlucky victims: masquerade balls. She also has a more enticing human form, usually seen riding atop giant skulls. Guarding Laruba Mansion, she’ll fight by crying fiery tears from the mask. Use your shield to deflect the bombardment!
