The metal Pac-Man represents the Chain Chomp, a spherical enemy made of dark-colored metal. Pac-Man's favored Power Pellet references the Chain Chomp's ability to dash at the end of their chain while performing a bite attack; the move transforms Pac-Man into his classic pie-shaped form, which closely resembles the Chain Chomp's appearance. The music track is a remix of the theme for Bob-omb Battlefield, in which one of the collectible Power Stars necessitates Mario freeing a Chain Chomp in order for it to destroy the fence behind it.

Bow wow! These dog-like enemies are usually found chained to wooden posts across the Mushroom World. Always hungry, these metal munchers usually try to take a bite out of Mario. In Smash, you can summon one as an Assist Trophy, where it will desperately tug at its chain to bite your opponents. It can’t move, so try to launch people towards it!
