The Giant Ice Climber puppet fighters' red-and-blue costumes represent Duon, a large robot whose design consists of two humanoid figures with pink and blue color schemes and can battle in unison. The stage and music track represent the bridge of the Halberd, which serves as the location of Duon's boss battle in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Ice Climbers start the battle with a Super Scope, and the Shooting Type items reference the arm cannons used by the pink half of Duon, which can shoot powerful lasers. The stamina battle condition references the HP meter used in the boss battles in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which gauges the health points of a boss, including Duon. Other trivia: In World of Light, the Duon spirit is located in the Base map, a robotic-themed dungeon in the Light Realm which features Galleom as a boss, another original boss from Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
A robot from a substance of primordial shadow, Duon was the Subspace Army’s last line of defense on the Halberd. It has two different bodies that share the same set of wheels, attacking with whichever side faces its foe. The blue half uses the sword on its arm, while the pink one’s weapon of choice is the laser cannon on its head. Both sides can also fire off homing missiles from their shoulders.
