The orange Luigi represents Duster, a lanky mustached character who wears a blue shirt. The stage and music track represent Mt. Oriander, the main setting of the first chapter of Mother 3, which takes place during the Pigmask Army's invasion. The Fog hazard and the Smoke Ball item reference Duster's Thief tool, the Smoke Ball, which releases a smokescreen and prevents his enemies from attacking him. The second battle condition references Duster's kicking attack and his signature shoes weapon, which can increase his Offense stats. Other trivia: This spirit's Attack type and Foot Attack ↑ ability further reference Duster's kicking attacks and signature shoes weapon. In World of Light, the Flint spirit is located in the shrouded forest area in the Light Realm, further referencing Duster's Smoke Bomb.
The very definition of a thief with a heart of gold, Duster is a master of various Thief’s Tools, which he uses to assist the denizens of Tazmily Village, as well as search for the next big score. Among his various equipment is the Rope Snake, which he uses to latch on to and swing from various objects. He apparently loaned it to Lucas for Smash, who uses it as his grab.
