Iggy Koopa represents Fawful and R.O.B. represents Mechawful. The battle has numerous references to Fawful, having Iggy start the fight with a Rocket Belt that references Fawful’s own Vacuum Helmet and the battle music is the same that plays in his final boss fight in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. The spirit's Electric Attack ↑ ability can be a reference to Fawful’s heavy use of energy-related resources throughout the Mario & Luigi series.
