Brinstar (Melee)
Shogo Sakai · 01:51
The yellow Ivysaur and the Unira item represent the Geemer, a small, quadrupedal enemy who is depicted with a yellow carapace and blue spines. The stage and music track are based on Brinstar, the starting area in Metroid, which features the first appearance of the Geemer as an enemy. The Sticky Floor hazard and the "increased move speed" battle condition reference how the Geemer's evolutionary offshoot, the Zoomer secretes sticky fluid from their feet, which allows them to crawl up walls and ceilings. Other trivia: This spirit's Jump ↓ ability decreases the player's jump height, referencing how the Geemer and the Zoomer can crawl up walls and ceilings without jumping.
Able to cling to any surface, these variants of Zoomers are much more resilient than their evolutionary counterparts, either take more shots or being immune to the Power Beam altogether. A missile will always work, though. They’re found all over Zebes and Tallon IV, so watch your step!
