The red, blue, and purple Ridley's Plasma Breath each represent the three heads of Hewdraw, a flying three-headed serpentine enemy who can breathe fireballs. The stage and music track represent Skyworld in the beginning of the third chapter of Kid Icarus: Uprising, which features the first boss battle against Hewdraw. Other trivia: This spirit's Jump ↑ ability references how Hewdraw gains the ability to fly in Uprising. In World of Light, the Hewdraw spirit is located in the eastern cloud area in the Light Realm, referencing Skyworld, which features Hewdraw's first boss battle in Uprising.
The serpentine Hewdraw was originally the Gatekeeper of the Overworld’s fortress, guarding the Sacred Treasure it hid. 25 years later, the Hewdraw has become a much fiercer beast, growing two extra heads. Each has their own personality, ranging from friendly to intelligent to impulsive. They don’t often get along, but they can all agree on one thing: devour Pit!
