The cyan Inkling represents Jeff, a young male character who wears eyeglasses and a cyan outfit, and appears as the Assist Trophy enemy. The music track features the theme song of Jeff's hometown, Winters, where he is first featured as a playable character in EarthBound. The Inkling fighters starting off with Ray Guns and a Super Scope, and the Shooting Type items reference Jeff's usage of different guns in battle. Other trivia: This spirit's Support type references Jeff's role as a member of Ness's party in EarthBound. This spirit's Shield type references how Jeff has the highest Defense stat in Ness's party. This spirit's Jam FS Charge ability references how Jeff is the only member of Ness' party who doesn't use PSI abilities.
The prodigal son of a renowned scientist, Jeff is the brains of Ness’s party. Though he lacks PSI abilities, his intelligence makes him a force to be reckoned with, able to assess enemies at a glance and turn junk into weapons. His signature weapons are his Bottle Rockets, which he uses as an Assist Trophy in Smash. He’ll fire a volley of five at opponents, even having them home in on enemy locations!
