The red Richter puppet fighter represents Juste Belmont, a descendant of the Belmont Clan who wears a red uniform and uses the Vampire Killer whip as his main melee weapon. The stage's main platform features two different types of terrain, both of which are different colors, referencing how Dracula's Castle is divided into two different-colored layers in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. The Lava Floor hazard references the Fire Book, a Spell Book acquired in Harmony of Dissonance which allows Juste Belmont to create fire-based attacks with his sub-weapons. The "increased move speed" battle condition references the Quick Dash, an action featured in Harmony of Dissonance, which allows the player to move in a quick burst of speed. Other trivia: In World of Light, the Juste Belmont spirit is located in the Molten Fortress map in the Light Realm, which is occupied by fire-themed spirits, further referencing Juste's Fire Book, which allows him to use fire-based attacks.
50 years after Simon Belmont’s quest to end to Dracula, his grandson Juste enters Castlevania in search of his kidnapped childhood friend, Lydie. She’s been taken by Juste’s best friend, Maxim, possessed by the lingering spirit of Dracula. The castle’s even gained a mirrored half, reflecting Maxim’s split personas. Using the Vampire Killer and various spells, Juste must traverse through both castles to save his friends.
