Vs. Ridley
Yusuke Takahama · 02:40
The yellow Tiny Ridley represents Little Birdie, a tiny creature cloned from the original Ridley's DNA, whose larvae stage is depicted covered in yellow fur. The stage represents the Biosphere, a simulated jungle sector in the Bottle Ship where Samus first encounters Little Birdie in Metroid: Other M. The music track and the rules reference Ridley's life cycle, where he will evolve from his Little Birdie stage into the Mystery Creature stage, and finally evolve into Ridley. Other trivia: This spirit's Stats ↑ after Eating ability references Little Birdie's voracious appetite, which allows him to feat off the flesh of his victims and enable his evolutionary cycle into his older dangerous stages. In World of Light, the Young Samus spirit on Galeem's side of the Final Battle map matches with the Little Birdie spirit on Dharkon's side; both characters are the younger forms of Ridley and Samus (who have a notable rivalry with each other) who appear in Metroid: Other M.
This cute little guy is the first stage in the life cycle of the Space Pirate, Ridley! Its next form is more lizard-like, with a sharp tail and massive jaws, but still maintains some of its feathers. Its final form is near identical to the Cunning God of Death himself, so don’t let his cute beginnings fool you!
