Lumas are friendly creatures that dwell among the stars, appearing mainly in the Super Mario Galaxy games; the Kirbys fought in this battle resemble them, both in their simple appearances and in their variety of color schemes. Because of the Lumas' adjacency to stars, all manner of star-shaped items appear in this fight, like Warp Stars, Star Rods, and Super Stars; Super Launch Stars also appear, but have additional significance in the context of Lumas, as many Lumas in the Galaxy games are seen transforming into planets, galaxies, or the Launch Stars used to access them.

Lumas are helpful little guys that are completely dedicated to their “Mama,” Rosalina. They even fight by her side in Smash! Coming in every color imaginable, they can shoot Star Bits and transform into stars, including Launch and Power Stars.
