The red female Wii Fit Trainer puppet fighter represents Mei Ling, a Chinese-American female character who developed Solid Snake's Codec radio system. The green Snake minion fighter is based on Solid Snake's appearance in the Metal Gear Solid series, who serves as the leader of his Codec radio system support team. The stage, music track, and the Fog Hazard represent the USS "Missouri", a naval battleship commanded by Mei Ling, which sails through a foggy atmosphere in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Other trivia: This spirit's Energy-Shot Resist ↑ ability references Mei Ling's role in the Metal Gear series by assisting Solid Snake during his missions to destroy the Metal Gears, which are capable of launching nuclear missiles with railguns.
Meeting Solid Snake during the Shadow Moses Incident, Mei Ling was a data analyst in charge of recording mission data. On top of her saving services, she offered Snake advice in the form of various proverbs. These days, she still works for the United States military, but offers Snake and Otacon less-than-legal assistance to their fight against Metal Gears.
