The Giant Glasses Pikachu and the Pitfall item represent Moley, a large mole who wears sunglasses and is depicted with his body burrowed underground. The stage represents Cabbage Cavern, an underground cavernous stage in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, which features Moley as a boss. The music track is based on the theme song of Kirby's Squeak Squad, which features Moley's wife, Mrs. Moley, as a boss. Other trivia: This spirit's Drill Equipped ability references Moley's ability to burrow underground during his boss battle. In World of Light, the Moley spirit is located in the Forest Hill map, which is occupied by animal-themed spirits, including Moley the mole.
Living deep in Cabbage Cavern, Moley guards one of eight shards of the Dimensional Mirror, the only portal to the Mirror World. He’ll hide in the ground and ceiling, only able to be attacked in the brief moments he pops out. He’s also a mini-boss in Kirby Mass Attack, bringing some Mogmoles along with him. A similar boss, Mrs. Moley, appears in Kirby: Squeak Squad, and yes, they are a couple!
