The stage represents Tselinoyarsk, the main setting of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which takes place in a forested country. The stage's hazard features a rain effect and a waterfall, referencing the Sorrow, a ghost soldier accompanied by rainstorms whom Naked Snake encounters after he jumps from a waterfall and enters the spiritual realm. Other trivia: In World of Light, the Naked Snake spirit on Dharkon's side of the Final Battle map matches with the Baby Mario spirit on Galeem's side; both are protagonists of the prequels to their respective video game series.
