The group of Kirbys represent the Piantas, a multicolored race of blob-like creatures, with each of the different colored Kirbys nearly matching each of the different Pianta colors seen in Super Mario Sunshine, and Delfino Plaza, Sunshine's main hub world, being their home. The Super Mushrooms and Poison Mushrooms reference the mushrooms collected and sold by the mushroom dealer Pianta in Sunshine, while the Banana Peels reference the bananas that the Piantas sell in the marketplace in Delfino Plaza, which is also depicted in this spirit's artwork.
